Footsteps in Africa - 10 Good reasons to use FIA

10 Good reasons to use the Footsteps in Africa circuit in Botswana:

1.     Footsteps in Africa is a trade-only company - our services are aimed strictly at the tourism trade and not at the consumer.

2.     We are committed to providing a quality, rewarding, yet affordable safari experience for your guests.

3.     Footsteps in Africa is committed to Sustainable Tourism Practices; including management systems maximising social, economic and cultural benefits to the local communities whilst conserving the environments we operate in. Our camps and lodges are owner-operated – by people committed to the resources and cultures of Botswana.

4.     Today Footsteps in Africa is the largest circuit of independent camps, lodges and services in Botswana, all unified under the Footsteps in Africa banner. Our circuit offers a "one stop shop" and we have a presence in each of the key areas of northern Botswana - Makgadikgadi/ Nxai Pans, Central Kalahari, Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park.

5.     We provide centralised reservations to all camps, lodges and services in Botswana.

6.     Sales and marketing is also centralised under the Footsteps in Africa banner, offering the travel trade detailed information on each and every product or service. Sales and marketing materials are available in digital format, and range from our Fast Facts e-brochures to full presentations.

7.     We proudly operate a community-based tourism project at Santawani and Sankuyo Bush Camp in association with Lodges of Botswana and the Sankuyo village trust.

8.     Pro-poor Tourism is conducted at all camps and lodges.

9.     Delta Camp, Oddballs’ Enclave and Oddballs’ are amongst the most environmentally friendly safari camps anywhere, confirmed by the findings of the pilot project for EcoTourism Standards in Botswana.

10.   Our various camps and lodges offer a wide range of experiences, including traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) safaris (we are the last operators in Botswana to use the traditional, hand-made canoes rather than fiberglass replicas), camping excursions, day and night drives with guide and tracker, San (Bushman) activities and interactions, guided walking, horse riding, and family and specialist safaris.
