Footsteps in Africa - Activities
Our various camps and lodges offer a wide range of experiences, including traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) safaris (we are the last operators in Botswana to use the traditional, hand-made canoes rather than fibreglass replicas), camping excursions, day and night drives with guide and tracker, San (Bushman) activities and interactions, guided walking, horse riding, and family and specialist safaris.
Day Drives:
Most of the areas in which we operate (except Oddballs', Oddballs' Enclave and Delta Camp) are able to offer day drives.
At Grasslands Bishman Lodge, Kalahari Desert Camp and at Mapula Lodge we are able to operate off-road and with a guide and tracker. An added bonus at all these camps is that the areas are all on private land, significantly improving quality sightings.
Night Drives:
Up to 30% of all Botswana's wildlife is nocturnal and thus it is essential to be able to offer night drives. At Grasslands Bushman Lodge, Kalahari Desert Camp and at Mapula Lodge we are able to offer night drives with a guide and tracker.
Bush walk:
All our camps except the Fly Camps are able to offer bush walks. Some camps such as Oddballs', Oddballs' Enclave and Delta Camp specialise in walking. It is often said that to truly experience the magic of Africa you need to get the dust of Africa on your boots!

Mokoro:
At Oddballs', Oddballs' Enclave and Delta Camp we offer traditional wooden mokoro excursions whilst at Mapula Lodge we offer mokoro trips in the fibreglass replicas like at most camps and lodges in the Okavango Delta.
Bushman Walk:
At Grasslands Bushman Lodge we offer extensive walks with San (Bushmen).
Bird watching:
Our circuit includes many diverse habitats and thus presents an excellent opportunity to view many of the colourful bird species that inhabit these parts.
Cultural Interaction:
Meeting people from other cultures and gaining an understanding of them enriches each and every one of us. At Oddballs', Oddballs' Enclave and Delta Camp we actively encourage guests to visit the village their personal guide hails from and meet his family.
Horseback Safaris:
At Grasslands Bushman Lodge, we are able to offer horseback safaris.
