Footsteps in Africa remains committed to providing quality accommodation at a very affordable price, whilst providing a quality game experience.
To this end we are launching a whole new concept in Fly Camp Safaris and have partnered with leading independent mobile operators in Maun.
It is a core belief of Footsteps in Africa that citizens must greatly benefit from tourism in Africa if conservation is to succeed.
These are traditional camping safaris in Botswana's prime wilderness areas with a guide, cook and camp staff to take care of you.
A real ‘safari’ experience with camp established on a private site (where possible). A maximum of 6 guests per vehicle and a total capacity of 16 guests per night at any specific campsite.
Please note: guests may share the safari with other guests!
Should you wish to reserve exclusive use of the accommodation - surcharges may apply.
Our Fly Camp Safaris operate in four of the premier destinations in Northern Botswana - Xakanaxa, Khwai, Savuti and Chobe Riverfront.

You book these Fly Camp safaris like you would book any camp/ lodge in Botswana. No set departures either - our Fly Camp adventures depart each and every day. The best evidence of value for money is in the fact that four guests for a 3-night stay constitutes a departure!
A minimum of a three-night stay is required.
All accommodation with basic en suite facilities in a comfortable camp set up in private areas. Guests enjoy three meals per day, prepared by the camp cook.
Guests fly into the airstrip that is closest to the site and are collected by the operator, saving travelling time - time that will be spent productively viewing game!!
The tents have twin beds with linen, side table, lamps and of course en suite bathroom (bucket shower and loo).

THE CAMPSITES:
All sites used for our Fly Camps are very similar to the HATAB sites.
The nights are spent in the unfenced camping sites allowing the closest possible interaction with wildlife. Depending on the itinerary we move from one designated camping site to another, sometimes spending several nights in the same area.
All accommodation is with basic en suite facilities in a comfortable camp set up in private areas. Guests enjoy three meals per day, prepared by the camp chefs. The camp chefs have the remarkable ability to prepare elegant and delicious meals in the wilderness.
Game viewing activities are mostly conducted in the early mornings and late
afternoons, during the middle part of the day we relax in camp...
It is a wonderful experience to sleep in a tent, deep in the wilderness, listening to the roar of a lion and other sounds of the night, knowing they are close, very close.
THE OPERATORS :
Like so many things in life the best ideas are always borne from a group of friends sitting about and deciding to make a change.
The Fly Camp safaris are presented by Footsteps in Africa, background support is provided by Peter Sandenbergh of Lodges of Botswana - who needs no further introduction.
But the folks doing all the hard work are a group of dedicated Botswana citizens.
They all also share some other common traits:
•Passion for Botswana
•Many years of service to leading safari companies in Botswana
•A desire to make a meaningful contribution to the tourism sector in Botswana.
