MENO A KWENA TENTED CAMP - LOCATION
“Old world safari charm, and absolutely perfectly situated”
LOCATION:
Meno a Kwena is situated on the edge of Boteti River, which forms the western boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
The area is home to southern Africa's largest wildebeest and zebra migration, meerkats, and all species of African predators including brown hyaena, - perhaps the most diverse natural wildlife habitats in southern Africa, all within reach of Meno a Kwena Tented Camp!
The salt pans are a fascinating source of archaeological and historic relics in and around what was once the bed of a vast inland lake. We offer optional salt pans experience safaris that include a quad bike trip into the middle of the salt pan to sleep out in a camp set up in advance under a canopy of stars.
We are now officially as much of an Okavango Delta camp as we are a Kalahari camp! This puts our property in a rather unique position to offer our guests both habitats and wildlife species from one camp.
This new lifeline brings with it growing populations of wildlife including Riverine mammals and fish to give birth to a new circle of life for years, if not decades to come. We are not complaining at all, in fact we and our guests are in awe of this reincarnation, and so welcome the few new challenges that face our safari operations.
