Footsteps in Africa - Botswana made easy

Footsteps in Africa is the largest circuit of independent camps, lodges and services in Botswana, all unified under the Footsteps in Africa banner. Our circuit offers a "one stop shop" and we even have our own charter company, Delta Air, servicing the key areas of northern Botswana -  Central Kalahari, Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. The Footsteps in Africa camps and lodges form an excellent circuit of lodges. We have offices in Hoedspruit and Maun to provide on-the-ground service in Southern Africa.

Footsteps in Africa is committed to providing a quality, rewarding and affordable safari experience for our guests, while being aware of both  our impact, and that of our guests, on the environment.

All Footsteps in Africa camps and lodges have owner input thus offering a personal touch from people that are passionate about their products - this is what sets us apart. The camps and lodges are all small and intimate and in the best locations in Botswana, exactly where guests need to be to appreciate the beauty of the landscape and wildlife that Botswana has to offer.

Footsteps in Africa is a tourism business dedicated to serving the travel and tourism industry.

Family Safaris

There is simply no better family holiday than one in the African bush. There is nothing better than running barefoot in the Kalahari sand, playing soccer with elephant dung ‘soccer balls’ and going on an insect hunt in between activities.

We have designed a user-friendly, all-in-one information guide and checklist for children to enjoy while on safari at all Footsteps in Africa Camps and Lodges in Botswana.

Why not also try our other fun activities as well, which can be downloaded from our Family Safari page.

**Newsflash - Please take note of regulations for traveling to Botswana with children**

REQUIREMENTS FOR MINORS TRAVELLING THROUGH ALL BOTSWANA PORTS OF ENTRY
The Ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs informs the general public that it has imposed requirements for minors (children under 18) travelling through the country’s ports of entry.
Effective from the 1st October 2016 minors travelling through the country’s borders will be required to produce certified copies of unabridged birth certificates in addition to their valid passports. In the event that one parent is not travelling with the child, the other parent’s affidavit consenting to such travel should be availed. However, an affidavit will not be required if the father’s name does not appear on the child’s birth certificate.

The development which is aimed at managing the movement of children across the country’s borders has an ultimate goal of tackling human trafficking which is a global challenge. Botswana, like other countries is affected by this problem and as such has enacted the United Nations Anti Human Trafficking Protocol; which calls upon governments to come up with deliberate measures aimed at combating human trafficking.
